NOMADIC TEAHOUSE Series :02

Rooftop and penthouse of Torre Velasca during Milan Design Week 2026

For this edition of the Nomadic Teahouse series, CROMO installed a teahouse on the rooftop of Torre Velasca during Milan Design Week 2026.

On the roof, a mini matcha bar with a 360-degree view of the city. Inside the penthouse apartment atop the iconic building, a teahouse designed in collaboration with Milan-based Bogdan Martoiu. The architectural intervention drew inspiration from the Vietnamese nhà rông, a communal structure Tea built for gathering, recast in contemporary utilitarian materials with a reflective outer shell that mirrored the building at every angle. Torre Velasca was not an accident but an intentional choice to for CROMO. The building, one of Europe’s most iconic buildings, has been argued about since 1958. Brutalist, medieval, anachronistic, and infinitely unique, the building marked the formal, hard launch of the brand.

Guests stepped away from the noise of Design Week into a space with a different pace. Two teas anchored the experience: Cyborg Beauty, a Moroccan mint green tea, and Jade Priestess, a high-grade matcha. The launch garndered international press from outlets such as Monocle, Domus, Wallpaper, Elle Decor, Office Magazine, LA Repubblica, Corriere della Sera, and Marie Claire.
